The Rescue Ready defibrillator performs a daily self-check to ensure that the software, hardware, battery and pads are in working order and prepared for use at all times. The high-voltage electronics are partially charged on a weekly basis and fully charged once a month. Because nobody knows when SCA will strike, it is imperative to have equipment that is always ready for use.
The defibrillator is designed for use by unskilled and skilled emergency responders. The included non-polarized pads (both can be placed in either position) are easy to place properly; concise voice prompts and the device's text screen display prompts are clear to read and follow, even in noisy, chaotic environments, while a metronome provides the correct compression rate for effective CPR. It is equipped with innovative STAR biphasic technology to calculate electric impedance and deliver the appropriate energy level in subsequent shocks. In AED mode, the device "knows" when to deliver a shock, eliminating unsure hesitation on an unskilled rescuer's part. Every AED is compatible with pediatric pads as well (sold separately).
The Powerheart AED G3 Pro features manual override so that when emergency rescuers arrive, they may convert to manual defibrillation capabilities for advanced life support. It is equipped with 3-lead ECG monitoring and a color display for complete analysis of the victim's vital signs. The screen displays the victim's heart rate, waveform, number of shocks delivered, and the elapsed rescue time to help skilled rescuers make informed decisions.
The defibrillator is compliant with AHA 2005 guidelines.
