Sharpoint™ PLUS PolySyn FA™ Braided Sutures with Precision Reverse Cutting Needles, 3/8 Circle, are synthetic, braided, coated sutures specifically developed for short-term closures, such as skin and mucosa closings.
Sharpoint™ PolySyn FA™ Sutures consistently meet the demands of surgery professionals worldwide. it is designed to be absorbed quickly with minimal tissue reaction. Packaged in dry or in wetting solution, these sutures are strong and sharp, thus they easily penetrate the skin. PolySyn FA™ Sutures are equivalent to Ethicon VICRYL™ RAPIDE™ and Velosorb™ Fast™.
Made from polyglycolic acid, these sutures have a proprietary coating, which ensures superior smoothness and low friction for less tissue drag. It maintains 50% strength at 5 days, 0% at 14 days and is essentially absorbed between 49 and 63 days.
PolySyn FA™ Sutures are available as undyed or violet in color, in various sizes. Size 3-0 is used for closure of muscle layers or bowel repair. Sizes 4-0 and 5-0 are used in larger vessel repair or skin closure. Size 6-0 is used in vascular graft sewing.
These sutures feature Precision Reverse Cutting needles, which feature a triangular point with cutting edge on the outer curvature. Extra sharp cutting edges are precision-honed to reduce tissue drag. Primarily used in plastic surgery or delicate procedures. Available in 12 per box. All sutures are packaged in a sterile, double pouch for sterile transfer.
