The BD Nexiva™ Diffusics™ Closed IV Catheter System is an all-in-one device that combines a great number of unique technological advancements intended to enhance efficiency, safety and precision. The System does not only deliver a dependable solution for power injection procedures, but helps realize a much more efficient treatment process leading to enhanced patient care and significant cost reduction.
Performance Under Pressure. Featuring a unique diffusion tip, the Nexiva™ Diffusics™ Catheter that allows to successfully address the challenges of power injection protocols. The multiple laser-cut, teardrop-shaped diffusion holes in the catheter tip help stabilize the catheter in the vein by 67% and avoid extravasation. Diffusics™ technology allows for the use of smaller gauge catheter during contrast CT, at the same time enabling higher flow rates which works perfectly in the cases of difficult venous access.
Stabilization Platform. The Nexiva™ System has a built-in stabilization platform that helps realize a secure catheter fixation. The feature allows facilitating an uninterrupted treatment process eliminating the risks of catheter failure, such as phlebitis and infiltration caused by the unit movement. Eliminating the cases of restarts, Nexiva™ Catheter System does not only allow for a seamless patient care process, but excludes associated costs.
Vialon™ Biomaterial. The BD Vialon™ Biomaterial technology results in an exceptional catheter performance and durability. Advanced catheter materials are proven to extend the unit dwell time up to 144 hours, provide a greater kink resistance and reduce the risks of mechanical phlebitis. Importantly, the catheter softens in the vein increasing patient comfort throughout the continuous treatment process.
Instaflash Needle Technology. Made with unique Instaflash needle technology, the Nexiva™ Catheters are proven to enhance the proficiency of needle insertion even in cases with difficult, small and compromised veins by providing a visual assessment of vessel entry. The Catheter needle cannula is assembled with a small notch that facilitates an immediate flashback at the point of vessel entry allowing to act confidently and precisely. This feature dramatically reduces the cases of painful hit-and-miss insertions.
Extended Benefits. The BD Nexiva™ Closed Catheter System, the first of its kind, provides a complete solution for better administration of IV therapy. The integrated system is secured from blood leakage from the catheter hub and therefore the risks of contamination. It requires fewer manipulations though minimizing the need of catheter or tubing exchange and effectively reduces the chances of accidental disconnections.
