The Nellcor Flexible SpO2 Sensor from Covidien is reusable, reliable, and dependable. Especially designed for short-term, continuous monitoring, these sensors easily integrate into any kind of workflow. They are also compliant with the latest standards, just like the sensors used in rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
The Nellcor Flexible SpO2 Sensor is both forward and backwards compatible with Nellcor pulse oximetry products. They are tested to meet air worthiness vibration testing and electromagnetic compatibility levels (in accordance with standard DO-160G)
Quality Monitoring Wherever You Are
Sp02 Sensors are designed for short-term monitoring, but they are not confined to healthcare spaces. They're good for emergency monitoring in transport, and home care.
These rubber pulse oximetry sensors are reusable and they come in two sizes with a broad >20 kilogram (>44 pound) weight range.
SpO2 Premium Features
These sensors can meet extreme environment standards. They have been tested from:
- 0º C to 40º C (32º F to 104º F) operating temperature
- 15 to 95 percent non-condensing relative humidity
- 620 to 1060 hPa atmospheric pressure
SpO2 sensors also have an ingress protection rating of IP33, which means that they are certified to protect against solid particulates >2.5 mm (>0.09") and spraying water up to 60 degrees Celsius (140º F) from vertical with no harmful effects.
The sensor will function for 20 minutes at temperatures down to -20 ºC (-4º F) and up to 50º C (122º F). When not in use, the SpO2 sensor can be stored in conditions from -40º C (-40º F) to up to 70º C (158º F) and 15 to 95 percent non-condensing RH.
Designed for Dippable Cleaning (Safer and More Efficient)
SpO2 sensors favor dippable cleaning, which in turn favors protection against infection. Probes are very common transmitters for infection, and studies suggest that a third of ICU pulse oximeter probes may be colonized with bacteria.
Aside from that, postoperative infection remains the most common cause for readmission after procedures like coronary artery bypass grafting. Dippable sensors can help reduce this statistic.
Sensor Size
Small - 22mm x 36mm (0.8" x 1.4")
Large - 23mm x 40mm (0.9" x 1.5")
The sensors are 95.5 cm (3.1 ft) long in total, counting the connector cable and the sensor's housing. Both sizes are intended for adults and pediatric patients weighing more than 20 kg (44 lbs).
Sensor Type
Regular: intended for use on EMS situations and in the hospital.
Home Care: Special version for home care use.
Due to its design and testing, the SpO2 sensor meets the required home care standards (IEC 60601-1-11:2015) for operating conditions in households, as well as emergency and healthcare areas.
