The Surgical Specialties™ Monoderm™ Absorbable Sutures with Taper Point Needles, 1/2 Circle are sterile, synthetic, monofilament polyglycolic acid sutures used in subcuticular closure and soft tissue approximation.

Sutures are essentially absorbed at 90 days. Non-reflective finish enables easier visibility under bright surgical lights. Surgical Specialties™ sutures also exhibit consistent needle strength and durability due to its precision manufacturing standards. They are equivalent to Ethicon™ Monocryl™ and Covidien™ Caprosyn™.
These sutures are available undyed or in violet color, in various suture sizes. Size 2-0 is used for closure of the fascia layer in abdominal surgery, or for knee, hip and back surgery. Size 4-0 is used for closure of muscle layers or bowel repair. Sizes 5-0 and 6-0 are for larger vessel repair. These sutures feature Taper Point needles, with a round shaft, straight or curved, without a cutting edge. Suitable for soft tissue closure such as fascia, vascular, gastrointestinal, and most soft tissue below the skin. Available in 12 per box.
