With a composition of 2% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and 70% isopropyl alcohol, the Carefusion ChloraPrep Skin Preparation Applicator has proven rapid and persistent defense against antimicrobial activity for at least 48 hours. These broad-spectrum antiseptics effectively reduce microorganisms on the skin which lessens the risk of infections. It maintains effectiveness even in the presence of blood, unlike iodine-based products.
