The Covidien Capnostream™ 20p Bedside Capnography Patient Monitor is a state of the art, well-built and reliable medical device designed to provide caregivers and medical personnel a complete measurement of a patient's oxygenation and ventilation status.
Accurate Respiratory Information. With its dual parameter monitor and Integrated Pulmonary Index™ algorithm, the Capnostream™ 20p Bedside Capnography Patient Monitor provides etCO2, SpO2, Pulse Rate, and Respiration Rate Measurements that supports current standard of care and can store up to 72 hours of trend data. It allows continuous monitoring of pulse oximetry and capnography which delivers a broad range of respiratory status information and alarm management. Using the Apnea-Sat Alert™ Algorithm, the Patient Monitor can track and report apneas per hour (A/hr) and the oxygen desaturation index (ODI), which indicates "dips" in SpO2.
A Suite of Algorithms. Engineered to reduce alarms and simplify monitoring, the Capnostream™ 20p Bedside Capnography Patient Monitor's Smart Alarm Management™ Integrated Algorithms enhances patient safety and improve clinical efficiency. The Smart Breath Detection (SBD) Algorithm is a proprietary filter and pattern recognition algorithm that screens out low-amplitude "non-breath" etCO2 excursions like snoring, talking, or crying which offers a more reliable respiratory rate. Combined with the SBD algorithm, the Smart Alarm for Respiratory Analysis (SARA) algorithm is made to reduce the number of nuisance alarms by 53 percent while providing a comprehensive picture of respiratory status. The Patient Monitor also has a Nellcor™ SatSeconds alarm management which calculates the duration and severity of events that offers caregivers insights to distinguish between minor or brief desaturations and serious hypoxemia.
Optimal Connectivity. The Covidien Capnostream™ 20p Bedside Capnography Patient Monitor is easily connected directly with the Vital Sync Virtual Patient Monitoring Platform (VPMP) and clinical decision support (CDS) solution. It is designed to consolidate critical patient information from wireless and bedside devices which transmits it to hospital servers. This provides enhanced clinical care with immediate access to smart, actionable data, remotely view patient physiological information, receive updates and alerts on any web-enabled devices and implement clinical protocols through CDS apps.
