COULTER LH Series Diluent is used in blood cell analysis for counting and sizing blood cells on COULTER GENS, STKS, MAXM, HmX, LH 500, LH 750, and LH 780 hematology analyzers. The red blood cells are lysed and the leukocytes are preserved.
In order to analyze a whole blood cell sample it needs to be diluted and then the cells can be counted and sized. The sample could then be analyzed for different blood cell types, like red blood cells and platelets.
The lytic reagent is helpful in the quantitative determination of hemoglobin. It also records the leukocytes (white blood cells) and figures out the origin of the leukocyte subpopulations. The leukocytes are divided into three populations (lymphocytes, mononuclear cells, and granulocytes).
The COULTER LH Series Diluent is an enhanced low formaldehyde-producing isotonic buffered diluent andshould be used with the COULTER LYSE S III diff lytic reagent.
